Adaptation Process
Part A: Development of Performance Text
Time
The scene takes place in a short moment, during a time where assassinations have a bigger organization – big enough to hold a protection program for witnesses.
Around the same time but with a bigger, more legitimate organization complete with brand partners that help with assassination locations and Headquarters.
Place
The scene took place originally in an interrogation room justified by the narrative nature of the text.
The scene takes place in an apartment with a homemade background, signifying that the death declaration made by MIKE done through a rushed process.
Character
Concise, the character is focused in the narration of his assassination itself – no other information was given – professional.
MIKE, akin to the source material character, is still very focused on what he wants to discuss. Additionally, MIKE shows humanity with his junction to LESLIE’s personal story.

Target
MIKE narrates how he’s used to taking matters into his own hands, not to fix problems but to run away from them. He starts his narration with a clear control of LESLIE from the very start – “Nakita ko siya sa may Starbucks”.
MIKE states his supreme control of the situation, after which, he gives a humanitarian view of LESLIE –her desperation has led her to help huge people do bad things.
MIKE gives a view of his decisions and how these decisions show his overlying desire of control, at the very least, he didn’t kill LESLIE for the sake of helping the society by taking out an abused cog in the system of the rich, but he did so because he didn’t want to lose control of LESLIE’s life.
